On December 18, the groundbreaking ceremony was officially held for the "New Project of Sika (Zhejiang) Novel Materials Co., Ltd. for an Annual Output of 141,300 Tons of High-Performance Eco-Friendly Adhesives, Coatings, and Other Series Products", undertaken by the China Haisum's Shanghai Headquarters, at the Dushan Port Economic Development Zone in Pinghu, Zhejiang.
Distinguished guests attending the groundbreaking ceremony included Zhong Xudong, Secretary of the Pinghu Municipal Party Committee, Jin Yi, Vice Mayor of Pinghu, Zhang Yejiong, President of Sika China, Mr. Thomas Robert, Head of Automotive and Industry of Sika Asia Pacific, Mr. Stephan Oderbolz, Head of Operations of Sika Asia Pacific, Wang Bo, Executive Vice President of Sika China, Hu Yan, Vice President of Sika China, Chen Rongrong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China Haisum and Zhang Zhi, Vice President of China Haisum. Chen Rongrong was invited to deliver a speech on behalf of the Construction Contractor.
In his speech, Chen stated that China Haisum is the first publicly listed company in China specializing in professional engineering design services and has long been committed to providing services for well-known enterprises in the fields of chemical derivatives, new materials, advanced processes, etc. China Haisum and Sika share a long-standing partnership. Since the beginning of their cooperation, both parties have upheld innovation, efficiency, and environmental protection as core values, working together to drive industry development. China Haisum will continue to strengthen its capabilities in digital delivery, intelligent manufacturing, and smart operation and maintenance, and will provide Sika with high-quality, full-lifecycle solutions through smart factory, intelligent operation and maintenance, and zero-carbon emission, striving to make this project a model of excellence.
Zhang Yejiong, President of Sika China, stated in the speech that the Sika (Zhejiang) Novel Materials's Plant holds significant importance for the realization of Sika China's 2028 strategic goals. The new plant will serve as a vital base for enhancing production capacity and improving product quality, creating greater business opportunities and development potential for Sika.
The project of Sika (Zhejiang) Novel Materials Co., Ltd. involves a total investment of USD 100 million. It covers a land area of 100 mu and a building area of 32,700 square meters. Upon completion, it will produce 141,300 tons annually of high-performance eco-friendly adhesives, coatings, and other series products. These include fireproof coatings, silicone sealants, flooring coatings, adhesives, and waterproofing materials, which will be applied in sectors such as clean energy (including wind power, nuclear power, and new energy vehicles), as well as green and low-carbon buildings. The plant is set to become a key engine driving Sika's sustainable development strategy and will be the company's largest production base in China. Upon reaching full capacity, the plant is expected to achieve annual output value exceeding RMB 4.3 billion.
